Make words with Cookie Monster!

Hi boys and girls! I hope you are all having a great vacation! I have looking for more fun things we can learn from on the computer! I have also been eating some healthy holiday cookies! Yummy! Eating these cookies made me think of cookie monster from Sesame Street. It also made me think of this Cookie Monster Alphabet Soup game:

It's just like the Alphabet Soup Game we played for Word Study but this time you're making words other than just your name!

Hope you have fun!

Can you read this word?

Today, I gave out a paper with all of our word wall words in everyone's folder. This way you can study the words when you're at home! Knowing these words will help us when we read and when we write stories!

Also, I found this website to help too! We tried it in class today!

See how many words you can read!

It's snowing!!

Boys and girls, it's snowing outside! Did you see the snow fall today? I can't wait to hear about what you did during this snowy day! All this snow reminds me of one of the stories we have read in class!

Jumping on the number line!

Hi students and families!

We just started learning how to use number lines in math! They are really helpful! In school, we told number stories and used the number line to help us jump forwards! It will help us when we have to add and subtract!

Go here for more practice with the number line: http://www.hbschool.com/activity/numberline1_5_04/

How are you feeling?

Welcome to Ms. Esther's blog! I will post new things we are learning in K-205! Recently, in social studies we have been talking about feelings! We talked about all different kinds of feelings like:
-sad
-happy
-scared
-angry
-grumpy
-excited
We are even looking for parts in stories that we read that make us feel these ways!
Here are some fun websites where we can learn more about feelings!
